The adult Critical Care Medicine Fellowship was established as a multidisciplinary training program in critical care medicine in 1989, and has remained an accredited program since that time. The program accepts applicants who have completed an internal medicine (or combined medicine/pediatrics) residency. The program consists of two years of training, with 18 months of clinical rotations and 6 months research. The program has an established curriculum, but is flexible in accommodating previous training experiences as well as any special training interests.
The Critical Care Medicine fellowship program at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport is a multidisciplinary clinical and research training program offered to individuals who have completed training in Internal Medicine. The program is designed to prepare internists for certification in Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine

Application is made through
ERAS. Applications are typically reviewed approximately
18 months to one year
in advance. Applicants for the program must:
A personal interview is usually required as part of the application process. An unrestricted license to practice from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners is required prior to commencement of the fellowship. International medical graduates should contact the board directly for information on eligibility for licensure.
